Behold your next English Idol! (maybe...)

The English department holds this competition called English Idol every year. Participants are given a poem and in five minutes must interpret and read the poem in front of a panel of judges. They are then given some criticism and guidelines of what to improve on (ala American Idol style) before being sent home, or to the next round.

Well I just happen to like words so I decided to try my hand and dabbled into the feisty art of poetry. Wouldn't you know it, I made it to the finals. :-p

And I'm excited! I'll need to beef up my next reading, really go all out. Show these English majors what a man of theatre can do! Bite into the system and take it apart! Attack the program! Deface some ancient text! Decapitate some heads and defile some kind of fury animal, all while drinking the blood of an innocent Business Administration student, whom Chuck Norris had previously roundhouse kicked and I had previously lynched. Show them all the terror that will reign down upon them unless I am crowned King! King I say! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAH////////////////////////////

Or something like that...I’m excited...

Actual Excerpt from my first reading:

Old English Teacher Like Man: Please tell us what you think the poem is about.

Kyroko: Well I think it's about a man unlocking his inner talents. Having the desire to be creative and to escape his dreary lifestyle that has forced him down to a daily redundant schedule. He finds this escape in a muse that he finds, she allows him to imagine beyond what others would consider to be normal and more importantly acceptable. This causes him to dream and imagine, but ultimately when faced with the world he denies ever doing so out of fear of being segregated and attack by others. The poem is about gaining and ultimately denying your imagination, your indulging side. Burying it in order to live and co-exist with everyone.
Kindly Old English Grandma:
Son, the poem is about sex.

Kyroko:
D'oh!
